San Diego turned a good effort from starter Takeji Takano into a win over the New York Nightmare at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium. The final score was 5-1. San Diego now has a record of 82-52 with the win.

The Fleet got a big at-bat from right fielder Jacob Kennedy. For the game, Kennedy was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 20th double of the season gave San Diego a 2-0 lead.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Takano told the San Diego Citizen.
