In a tight tilt between the San Francisco Fire and the Fountain Hills 23ers, Tom Tchida was the deciding factor. The San Francisco right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Tchida picked up the win for San Francisco, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-5. Chris Benson finished the game for San Francisco and earned his 10th save.

Dusty Ward went 1-3 with a double and a walk for San Francisco. The 2023 Rookie of the Year Award winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Bill Mosher. It was his 42nd walk of the season.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Ward.
