Tampa Bay got a terrific game from first baseman David Domina. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Syracuse, 6-4. Domina went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. Syracuse reliever Nick Chinn picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ray Rorie absorbed the loss. Tampa Bay is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.

Danny Hammang broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Scorpions in front, 4-3. For the game, Hammang drove in one run.

"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Tampa Bay skipper Erik Thames.
