The Halifax Heathens handed the Dallas Dragons a sound defeat, 12-2, at Estadio Azteca. Austin Compton was a main contributor to the win. He went 3 for 6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 6 for Halifax. Jack Ivory was the winner. He's now 12-8. The loser was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Victor Figueroa. Steve McManus recorded his 2nd save for Halifax.

Compton had a key at-bat for Halifax in the bottom of the first. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 32nd double of the season and gave Halifax an early 2-0 lead.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Edgar Puente.

Halifax is now 80-51, 10 games up in the American Conference South Division.
