Fans who congregated at Oakhurst Field were treated to extra-inning drama.
Phoenix center fielder Pat Bounds was instrumental in helping the Gladiators triumph, 5-3, over the Maine Pines. Bounds went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win elevated the Gladiators to 29-27.
In the top of the 11th, with the game tied, the Pines allowed the Gladiators to take a 5-3 lead on a base hit and Maine error.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Bounds.
