The home crowd had a good time watching the San Francisco Fire and Hollywood Stars get after it.

Despite a great performance by San Francisco first baseman Noel Cusack, the Hollywood Stars defeated the Fire by the score of 7-5 at Hollywood Grounds. Cusack was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Logan Mayhew got the win, improving to 11-8. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1.

Tim Schellin had a big 2-run double for the Stars in the bottom of the first inning. With Hollywood leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a forkball from Josh Flaten, who finished 3rd in the NC in wins with 17 in 2015, and swatted a double to right. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 3-0.

"You look inside of the game, it's just quality approach after quality approach," said Stars manager Sean Simmers.

The second-place Stars have won 7 straight.
