Royals Rally Late to Nip Dragons
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Cincinnati Royals and the Dallas Dragons, Dave Harvey, who is tied for 10th in the NC in innings pitched with 70.1, proved to be the difference. The Cincinnati right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Royals win. Harvey, the winner, moves to 5-2. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Wayne Harless closed it out for his 21st save.
Jerry Blake came through with a big-time hit for Cincinnati. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Dave executed his pitches at a high level," said Cincinnati manager Justin Aaron.
Cincinnati is now 37-19, while Dallas is 30-26.
