Ulmer Excels, Vancouver Levels New York
|
The Vancouver Mounties scored a convincing win at Nightmare Stadium, defeating the New York Nightmare, 14-3. One of the hitting stars was Richard Ulmer, who leads the NC in home runs with 19, who went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 6. Vancouver has 3 straight wins, New York 3 straight losses.
Ulmer had a key at-bat for Vancouver in the top of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and gave Vancouver an early 2-0 lead.
"Bad day," New York manager Joey Bishop said. "New day tomorrow."
