Austin Rallies Past Indianapolis, 5-2

The Austin Desperados faced a tough opponent in Indianapolis pitcher Ray Dappen, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Eagles Stadium by a final score of 5-2. Dappen went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The Desperados have now won 4 straight.
John Austin was 1-4 for Austin. With one out and the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, Austin, who finished 4th in the AC in extra base hits with 79 last year, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Indianapolis hurler Jonathan Gonzales, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Desperados a 3-2 lead.
Said losing manager Pete DuBay: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
