Gangsters Win, 9-2, Versus Oakland
|
Chicago starter Jason Strobel kept the Oakland hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 9-2. The Gangsters move to 19-35 with the win, while the Invaders drop to 26-28.
Chicago used the clutch hitting of Glen Helms to snag the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Gangsters ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Jason attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Chicago manager Antonio Valdez.
