Kevin Farris pitched well, but his team, the Carolina Reapers, still dropped a 4-1 decision to the Syracuse Scorpions at Reedy River Stadium. Ken Allbaugh earned the save for Syracuse, his 13th of the year. Syracuse is now 29-25, Carolina 28-26.

In the top of the second inning, designated hitter Justin Scott had a solo home run for Syracuse. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Scorpions on top, 1-0.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Scott.
