Charleston turned a good effort from starter David Edgemon into a win over the Boston Whistlers at Ballpark of Charleston. The Shiners won the game, 5-1. The triumph puts Charleston at 30-23 for the season.

The Shiners got a big at-bat from designated hitter Tim Hutchison. For the game, Hutchison went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Charleston a 2-1 lead.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Hutchison.
