Reedy River Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Syracuse Scorpions and Carolina Reapers.

The Carolina Reapers picked up a win at Reedy River Stadium, knocking off the Syracuse Scorpions, 5-3. On the mound for Carolina was left-hander Jimmy DeMoss. He played a key role in the triumph. In 6.2 innings, DeMoss surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. John Salgado collected his 12th save.

Carolina catcher Franklin Reyes contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 45th hit of the season and put the Reapers ahead, 3-1.

"I went after the hitters," said DeMoss. "No pussyfooting around."

The Reapers now have a record of 28-25 with the win over Syracuse.
