Desperados Win, 6-4, in Extra Frames
The Austin Desperados overcame a good performance by Indianapolis second baseman Henry Cortez to knock off Indianapolis, 6-4, in 12 innings at Eagles Stadium. Cortez hit 2 home runs. Chris Oren got credit for the save for Austin. It was his 2nd of the year. With the victory, the Desperados upped their record to 29-24.

Emilio Abreu delivered a big hit for Austin. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Desperados ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay.
