Charleston catcher Ben Everly had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Tampa Bay Captains, 5-1. Shane Kidd got credit for the save for Charleston. It was his 8th of the year. With the win over Tampa Bay, the Sea Dogs improved to 37-16.

Had Nelson Ziersch not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Ziersch hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Sea Dogs.

"We took home the win," said Ziersch. "What's not to like?"
