Whistlers Stay Hot With 8-1 Win
The Boston Whistlers extended their winning streak.

The Boston Whistlers and starting pitcher Joe Schroeder stifled the Tampa Bay offense en route to a comfortable 8-1 win at Whislters Park. The winner was Schroeder. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Edwin Montez.

Jeff Beeson was a prime factor in the win for the Whistlers. In the bottom of the third with no one out, the former first round draft pick hit a 2-run single. He was 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"I didn't leave too many pitches out over the plate," said Schroeder.

Boston has now won 7 in a row.
