Chicago wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Sam Palacios, falling to the Syracuse Scorpions, 5-2. Palacios threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Tyler Kraus, the winner, goes to 1-3. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts over 6.1 innings. Syracuse now sports a record of 28-23.
Bobby Tapia chipped in for Syracuse, stroking a crucial solo home run in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the third baseman was 1-4 with a home run.
