The Philadelphia Marauders beat the New York Nightmare by a score of 7-2. Philadelphia shortstop Johnny McCargar deserved the lion's share of the credit. McCargar went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Marauders. Xavier Cooper picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-5. He struck out 6 in 6.1 innings. Chris Jacoby got the save, the 3rd for him this season.

With Philadelphia leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Joel Thompson hit a 2-run single off New York pitcher Jose Contreras. It put the Marauders ahead 4-1.

"We did a lot of things right," said McCargar.
