Aaron Jalbert was a major contributor to the 8-5 Cincinnati win over Vancouver. The Royals first baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The save was credited to Cameron Hutchinson, his 11th.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 24-year old second baseman Jay Bloms. Bloms had a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Royals ahead, 7-5. For the game, Bloms had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Jalbert.

The Royals improved to 30-19.
