Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Hollywood Grounds.

Despite a great performance by Hollywood first baseman Eric Daniel, the Cincinnati Royals defeated the Stars by the score of 5-3 in 10 innings at Hollywood Grounds. Daniel went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. The Royals have an impressive 32-16 record.

Cincinnati used the clutch hitting of Eric Hayes to snag the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Royals ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

Hayes called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
