Giants Come Up Short at Charleston, 4-3
|
The Charleston Sea Dogs defeated the Detroit Giants, 4-3, in National Conference action at Ballpark of Charleston. Charleston pitcher Sean Stevens had a standout performance. Bob Baucke snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-6 on the season. Mike Wroten suffered the loss. The victory gives Charleston a record of 27-21.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when third baseman Dusty Anderson, who finished 5th in the NC in on-base percentage with .387 in 2024, hit a triple. The Sea Dogs went on to win.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Anderson said.
