Indianapolis starter Paul Mitchell pitched effectively against the San Diego Fleet at San Diego Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. With the win, Indianapolis raised its record to 28-19.

Indianapolis used the timely hitting of Chris Boyd to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Enjoyed this one," Boyd told the Indianapolis Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
