Late Rally Leads to 7-4 Fleet Triumph
|
The San Diego Fleet locked up a win at The Castle, knocking off the Cincinnati Royals, 7-4. On the mound for San Diego was left-hander Rodrigo Lemus. He played a major role in the triumph. In 8 innings, Lemus surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. The triumph puts San Diego at 27-19 for the season.
San Diego used a timely hit from Paul Pittman to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fleet ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Rodrigo had good arm action, good stuff," said San Diego manager Brian Burnett.
