San Francisco 8-4 Losers to Eagles
|
Eagles designated hitter Jerry Robinson left his mark on his team's 8-4 win over the San Francisco Fire. Robinson, who is tied for 5th in the NC in total bases with 95, went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for Indianapolis in the contest. The winning pitcher was Jerry Bowman. He tossed 97 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The save went to James Gibson, his 10th this season.
Second Baseman Henry Cortez made an impact for Indianapolis, when he swatted a run-scoring double off James Dobyns in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Cortez was 1-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Cortez.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Eagles.
