Extra-Inning Win by Invaders Over Nightmare
|
The Oakland Invaders did just enough to secure a victory over the New York Nightmare, 4-3, in 11 innings at Nightmare Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Dennis Allen. Picking up his 12th save was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Josh Becker. Oakland raised its record to 27-19 with the win.
Oakland took a 4-3 lead on Mike Raia's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Raia hit in the top of the 11th, left New York pitcher Jeff Groves visibly frustrated.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," New York manager Tyrone Hairston said, following the tough loss.
