The Tampa Bay Captains finished off the Dallas Dragons, 5-2. Much of the credit belonged to left fielder Jonathan McCarthy. McCarthy went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Captains. Jason Washington earned the save for Tampa Bay, his 11th. The triumph makes Tampa Bay 14-29.

McCarthy had a key at-bat for Tampa Bay in the top of the first. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and gave Tampa Bay an early 3-0 lead.
