San Francisco Fire pitcher Chris Benson was in fine form, leading his team past the Toronto Trash Pandas, 3-1. The winner was Benson. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Winston Caballero. Edwin Rincones earned the save, his 2nd, for the Fire.

The Fire got a big at-bat from third baseman Jeff Mullinax. For the game, Mullinax went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave San Francisco a 3-1 lead.

"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Benson.

The Fire move to 23-20 with the win, while the Trash Pandas drop to 22-21.
