Lazaro Slugs Reapers to 7-3 Win
|
Jose Lazaro was a vital contributor to the 7-3 Carolina victory over Chicago. The Reapers shortstop went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. B.J. Rudolph earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 3-4. Their 19-20 record puts the Reapers third in the National Conference South Division.
Lazaro had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch cutter from Andy Bennett, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Reapers a 6-3 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Lazaro.
"We did a lot of things right," said Lazaro.
