The Detroit Giants finished things off in style.

The inspired effort of San Francisco catcher Victor Lopez was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Detroit Giants. Lopez was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Detroit has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Detroit trailing 5-4, Ron Cardwell delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Mike Walter for a 2-run double. Ballgame.
