Fans who congregated at Ballpark of Detroit were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Vancouver Caribou beat the Detroit Giants, 9-5 -- though it took them 11 innings. Vancouver center fielder Cesar Ornelas had a pretty good game. He went 4-6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. The Caribou, now 22-17, have won 4 in a row.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Ornelas delivered big-time for Vancouver, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off Lee Maher. The game-changing hit put the Caribou on top, 6-5.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Ornelas told the Vancouver Observer.
