Fleet Defeated, 3-0, After Philadelphia Rallies
|
Soggy conditions did not keep Philadelphia and San Diego from playing their scheduled game.
The Philadelphia Marauders had to overcome a good performance from San Diego pitcher Ray Rorie to claim a 3-0 win at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium. Rorie went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The win puts the Marauders at 23-16, while the Fleet drop to 20-19.
Philadelphia won the game in part because of Manuel Rosas. The center fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Marauders ahead, 3-0. For the game, Rosas had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Rosas said his team "played with determination."
