Getting a good performance from left fielder Mike Green, the Carolina Reapers defeated the Syracuse Scorpions, 9-4. Green was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Reapers. The losses continue to mount for Syracuse, which has now dropped 6 in a row.

Jose Lazaro had a big 2-run double for the Reapers in the top of the second inning. With Carolina leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick Matt Simpson and swatted a double to center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reapers ahead, 5-0.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Lazaro told the Carolina Observer. "Whatever it takes."
