The Syracuse Scorpions knocked off the Austin Desperados, 4-3, in American Conference action at Dell Diamond. Syracuse pitcher and Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, native Juan Rosales had an outstanding performance. Ken Allbaugh wrapped it up, recording his 11th save. The third-place Desperados dropped to 17-19.

Syracuse used a clutch at-bat from Chris Stanifer to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Scorpions ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We took home the win," said Stanifer. "What's not to like?"
