Syracuse Drops Another One, 4-2
Halifax Heathens starter Jack Ivory turned in a top-notch performance against the Syracuse Scorpions at Estadio Azteca. The result was a win for the Heathens, 4-2. Ivory got the win, improving to 2-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Jeff Buck nailed down his 11th save.

Nick Sumney had a big 2-run double for the Heathens in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Halifax trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Tyler Kraus and swatted a double to right. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Heathens ahead, 3-2.

"Jack was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Halifax manager David Morris.

The Heathens improved their record to 17-19 by beating Syracuse.
