Syracuse Defeated by Austin, 6-2

Austin pitcher Steve McClung had a large part in his team beating the Syracuse Scorpions, 6-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. McClung picked up the win for Austin, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. The defeat makes Syracuse 16-19.
Ruben Alamo had a big 2-run triple for the Desperados in the bottom of the first inning. With Austin leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Terry Droubay and swatted a triple to center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Desperados ahead, 4-0.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Austin manager Adam Ponder.
