Marauders Pull Out Late Win, 6-5
|
Though he had a terrific game, Phil Tibbits could not prevent his team, the Toronto Trash Pandas, from absorbing a loss. Philadelphia won the game, 6-5. Tibbits was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Philadelphia reliever Chris Rumrill picked up the win. Cory Gregerson took the loss for Toronto. Chris Jacoby earned the save for Philadelphia, his 2nd.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Mark LeFevre came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Toronto pitcher Jesse Keim, he hit a first pitch sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Philadelphia on top, 6-4.
"You just play the game as right as you can and see where you end up," said Marauders manager Danny Ordaz.
The victory gives Philadelphia a record of 22-12.
