Tampa Bay Loses Again
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 28-year old third baseman Chris Dellinger, the Vancouver Caribou stopped the Tampa Bay Captains, 9-2, in 9 innings. The winning pitcher was Joe Brackett. He tossed 92 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. Picking up the save was Kevin Weber, his 1st.
Dellinger had a big hit for Vancouver with one out in the bottom of the seventh. With Vancouver leading 3-1, Dellinger hit a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Caribou up, 7-1.
Tampa Bay manager Jalen Armour, after yet another defeat, said: "Guys need to step up. Pronto."
The loss makes Tampa Bay 9-25.
