Gladiators Suffer 6-2 Road Loss
Carolina picked up a win at Reedy River Stadium, bumping off the Phoenix Gladiators, 6-2. Pitcher Jimmy DeMoss was a major reason the Reapers emerged victorious. Roy Walk, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. With the win over Phoenix, the Reapers improved to 15-18.

Mike Green was 2-3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs for Carolina. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Green, who is tied for 9th in the NC in RBI with 22, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Phoenix hurler Carlos Abarca, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run to give the Reapers a 3-2 lead.

"Jimmy pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Carolina manager Julio Rodriguez.
