Stars Get Past Boston, 3-2
|
The Hollywood Stars racked up a win at Hollywood Grounds, bumping off the Boston Whistlers, 3-2, in 10 innings. Scott Johnson, who started for Hollywood, pitched effectively for his team. Hollywood reliever Pat Eisen picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. D.J. Elliott was saddled with the loss. The win puts Hollywood at 18-14.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Hollywood. That's when John Beck, who is on pace to hit 41 home runs this season, hit a solo home run off D.J. Elliott to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Johnson.
