Maine Breezes to 13-0 Win
|
The Maine Pines topped the New York Nightmare, 13-0, in National Conference action at Nightmare Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Maine pitcher and Miramar, Florida, native Justin Jemison. Jemison, now 3-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The defeat makes the Nightmare 12-20.
Kevin Cremo had a big run-scoring double for the Pines in the top of the second inning. With Maine leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Howie Freel and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pines ahead, 3-0.
"Justin was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Maine manager Chris Ware.
