The Boston Whistlers used the hitting of shortstop Evan Stowe to subdue the San Francisco Fire, 7-5. For the game, Stowe went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. Boston pitcher Scott Johnson got the win, upping his record to 4-0. Josh Flaten got the loss. Blake Bryant notched his 8th save of the season.

In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, the Fire allowed the Whistlers to take a 5-3 lead on a base hit and San Francisco error.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Contreras, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

San Francisco, at 9-21, is off to a poor start in 2024.
