Desperados Earn 5-4 Win Versus Gladiators
The Austin Desperados defeated the Phoenix Gladiators, 5-4, in part because of third baseman Ramon Dozal. Dozal went 3 for 3 with a double and 2 singles for the Desperados. Bob Baucke recorded the save, his 8th. The win leaves Austin with a record of 13-11.

Leo Serna provided a timely hit. The Austin right fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the tenth inning to put the Desperados on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Austin manager Adam Ponder.
