Desperados 5-3 Victors Over Carolina
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Austin Desperados and Carolina Reapers.
The Austin Desperados picked up a win at Dell Diamond, dropping the Carolina Reapers, 5-3. Steve McClung was the difference-maker. Bob Baucke got credit for the save for Austin. It was his 6th of the year.
Ruben Alamo drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Austin. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Sean Rowe. It was his 10th walk of the season.
"I really like what we did out there today," Alamo said after the game.
The win brings the Desperados to 11-9, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
