Jose Lazaro made an impact in the 7-4 Carolina win over Austin. Lazaro, who is tied for 7th in the NC in extra base hits with 11, went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Kevin Daniels got the save, the 1st for him this season. Austin is now 9-10.

Lazaro had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count cutter from J.R. Mitchell, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Reapers a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Lazaro.

"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Adam Ponder told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
