Reapers Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Austin
Ruben Alamo had a good game, but he could not keep the Austin Desperados from falling, 8-5, to the Carolina Reapers at Dell Diamond. The Austin second baseman went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Jake Triplett was the winner. He's now 1-2. The loser was Matt Parsons. With the loss, Austin falls to 10-9.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jose Lazaro? The Carolina shortstop had a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Reapers on top, 6-3. For the game, Lazaro had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Lazaro told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
