Eagles Earn Clutch Win, 6-5
Indianapolis beat Daytona Beach at Eagles Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to second baseman Henry Cortez. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The loss lowers the Daytona Beach record to 5-11.

Victor Mendez was the walk-off hero for Indianapolis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Eagles first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's not about individual awards," Mendez told a Indianapolis Citizen reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
