Syracuse center fielder Chris Guardiola had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Guardiola went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4, even as Fountain Hills beat the Scorpions, 11-8. Scott Lewis collected his 1st save. The loss puts Syracuse at 5-11.

In the top of the fifth, Fountain Hills first baseman Chris Dietel had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Dietel stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 10-6, Fountain Hills. For the game, he went 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"I still think this team can play even better," Dietel told the Fountain Hills Daily.
