Fleet Deal Vancouver 8-2 Defeat
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the San Diego Fleet and Vancouver Caribou.
The San Diego Fleet thumped the Vancouver Caribou, 8-2, at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium. Paul Pittman was a big reason his team got the win. Pittman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. San Diego pitcher Scott Staffieri earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Juan Millan suffered the loss.
Jacob Kennedy, who is tied for 8th in the NC in RBI with 13, chipped in a 2-run home run for San Diego in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Pete Clark.
San Diego is now 10-5.
