The Halifax Heathens defeated the Austin Desperados, 6-2, in American Conference action at Dell Diamond. Austin Compton pulled his weight. The 10-year veteran went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Halifax pitcher Joe Hart got the win, upping his record to 3-0. Matt Parsons got the loss. The win brings the Heathens to 9-5, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Compton had a key at-bat for Halifax in the top of the first. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and gave Halifax an early 2-0 lead.

"This was a total team effort," said Compton.
