Scorpions Rally Late to Clip Boston
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Whislters Park.

The Syracuse Scorpions withstood a good performance by Boston left fielder Willie Kirkham to knock off Boston, 9-8, in 14 innings. Kirkham went 4-7 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The Whistlers, at 4-9, have stumbled out of the gate.

Syracuse needed the clutch hitting of Billy Totten to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Scorpions on top, 9-8. For the game, Totten had 1 home run and 1 single in 7 at-bats.

"I like our moxie," said Scorpions manager Josh Gifford.
