The Montgomery Missions beat the Mt. Vernon Cyclones, 8-5, at Missions Grove. Montgomery second baseman Paul Adam had an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Josh Howard earned the win to go to 6-7. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 11 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. With the win, Montgomery upped its record to 69-65.

With Montgomery trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Adam hit a fastball from Nick Compean for a grand slam home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Missions ahead, 7-5.

"We came out aggressive," said Missions manager Hoa Nguyen-Dinh. "We came out swinging the bats."
