The Dallas Dragons, despite a fine performance by Austin pitcher J.R. Mitchell, grabbed a 3-2 win at Dell Diamond. Mitchell allowed 3 runs over 9 innings. With the win, Dallas pushed its record to 58-48.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Dragons had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fifth, when third baseman Eric Brewer hit a run-scoring single. The single came off J.R. Mitchell and made the score 3-2, Dragons. Brewer went 1-2.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Dallas manager Edgar Puente.
