A 5-RBI performance from third baseman Eric Hicks, who is tied for 8th in the NC in runs scored with 62, led the Maine Pines to a win over the Detroit Giants, 16-3. Maine is in first place in the National Conference North East Division with a record of 62-42.

With Maine leading 4-1 in the top of the fourth, Hicks came up to bat against Detroit pitcher Justin Thompson. Hicks hit a changeup to left for a grand slam home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Pines on top, 8-1.

"We got our butts kicked," said Detroit manager Sean O'Leary.
